Case Study: EMV-Enabled ATMs and Credit/Debit Cards Provide Fraud Protection and Better Services

Published on April 18, 2017

A case study from JMFA and CUNA Strategic Services.

As credit unions continue to upgrade their systems to protect themselves and their members from potential fraudulent card activity at the ATM, many are still facing the expensive task of reissuing credit and debit cards, and upgrading their hardware to interface with new EMV chip technology. In some cases, the cost of distributing tens of thousands of cards at one time is a tremendous effort, extending the process for months and leaving the institution vulnerable to potential fraud liability.
